In cellular respiration substrate level phosphorylation occurs during glycolysis and the citric acid cycle, where as oxidative phosphorylation occurs as a result of the electron transport chain.

In cellular respiration H+ is actively pumped from the matrix to the intercellular space ,where as in photosynthesis H+ is actively pumped from the stroma to thylakoid lumen.

In both cellular respiration and photosynthesis, the flow of H+ down it's concentration gradient occurs through the cytochrome complex which produces energy by converting ADP to ATP.

Explanation- Substrate level phosphorylation occurs in presence of light. It converts ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate. It happens in chloroplast. Oxidative phosphoration occurs in mitochondria. Here ATP is formed by oxidation reduction reactions during electron transport Chain. Oxygen acts as a hydrogen acceptor. In photosynthesis cytochrome complex lies between psI and psII. In cellular respiration, cytochrome complex present in complex IV of electron transport chain.

Can someone reword this for me? Please and thank you! Cellular respiration is a process that converts energy from food molecules into the energy of ATP. It involves three stages that occur in the cytoplasm of cells and in the mitochondria. One of the three stages is the citric acid cycle which is a series of reactions that generates reduced electron carriers that transport electrons to the electron transport chain. Since the primary function of the mitochondria is to produce...
