  • This statement is wrong as telomere is getting shortened on every round of DNA replication. DNA polymerase can not replicate DNA at the ends of linear chromosomes. Telomerase help DNA polymerase to replicate in this scenario. Cells that undergo cell division is subjected to shortening of telomere, as somatic cells lack telomerase enzyme.
