Question:- How does your metabolism compare with that of a fermentative bacteria and a respiring bacteria
Sol:-1. Our metabolism primarily occur in the mitochondria( TCA cycle) and cytosol( glycolysis) in the presence of oxygen whereas in case of fermentation the end product of glycolysis undergo fermentation process in the absence of oxygen.
2. Our metabolism pathway have electron transport chain but fermentation process does not involve an electron transport chain.
3. During glycolysis in our body NADH are form and this NADH are use in electron transport chain to produced ATP but in case of fermentation process NAD+ is regenerated from NADH by transferring electrons to organic molecules.
4. ATP production in our body during metabolism is higher than fermentation process in bacteria.
5. In case of respiring bacteria the metabolism occur in mesosome, fermentation bacteria metabolism occur in cytosol whereas our metabolism occur in cytoplasm and mitochondria organelle.
how does your metabolism compare with that of a fermentative bacteria and a respiring bacteria?
20-21. The yeasts utilize the Embden-Meyerhof pathway of metabolism and produce major end products of and from glucose metabolism. 22-23. Bacteria that use the same pathway as the previous question and produce are called (prefix) fermentative lactic acid bacteria. 24-27. (Prefix) pathway and produce as the chief end product fermentative lactic acid bacteria utilize the pentose shunt (hexose monophosphate) ,andas end products in more or less equal amounts. 28-29. Name one yeast (genus and species) that ferments lactose and one...
4. Explain how the genes that control galactose metabolism in yeast are regulated in yeast. How does it differ from the regulation of the lac operon in bacteria? please be detailed in your answer
Compare and contrast active site and allosteric sites. How does each affect metabolism?
Biochemistry: Membranes/metabolism 4. (6 pts) Membrane composition E. coli bacteria can be cultured at different temperatures. How does the fatty acid composition in membranes of E. coli grown at 20 °C compare with the composition in membranes of bacteria grown at 37 °C? Explain.
How does your metabolism affect your gut microbiota?
Given the metabolism of different bacteria, you will need to identify the type of metabolism (glycolysis, photosynthesis, aerobic respiration, pentose phosphate pathway, etc.) being performed and/or their nutritional classification. There is no specific bacteria, but as an example to how it would work
Describe what happens in glutamate metabolism. How does this amino acid work into central metabolism for carbon and energy?
Compare and contrast glycogen metabolism in the liver during fasting to glycogen metabolism in the skeletal muscle during exercise. What is unique about muscle glycogen metabolism
how does the gut microbiome contribute to our metabolism?
Iron Oxidation - This type of metabolism is performed by the microaerophilic bacteria that produced the rust band in your Winogradsky column. They grow in acidic environments, at a pH of about 2. The electron donor is Fe2+, and the electron acceptor is O2. a. Calculate AG. (0.9 pts) b. How many ATP can theoretically be produced for each run of the electron transport chain? (0.8 pts) C. 2 H* are pumped by this electron transport chain. How many ATP...
