Answer #1

19)Mendel crossed true-breeding parents, in the image the seed clour trait is shown, the yellow is dominant to green, the F1 progeny obtained by crossing two true-breeding parents shows the dominant trait, all the F1 progenies are Yy ( given in the image, YY-yellow parent, yy-green parent YY *yy the genotype of the progenies is Yy) since F1 progenies have the dominant allele it shows dominant trait.

so the F1 progeny obtained by the crossing of parental plants with different traits shows the traits of one parent ( dominant parent).

98 Mendelian Genetics Exercise D: Mendel's Dihybrid Cross But wait there's morel Mender's monohybrid crosses established that inheritance of phenotypes happened by the interactions of discrete particles' (we now call alleles). Further, he discovered that those alleles segregate during the process of meiosis in the production of gametes, which recombine during fertilization. The result of these two insights can easily be predicted by a technique developed by R. C. Punnett. Once these principles were established, Mendel sought to understand how...

1)When Gregor Mendel conducted his genetic experiments with pea plants, he observed that a trait’s inheritance pattern was the same regardless of whether the trait was inherited from the maternal or paternal parent. Mendel made these observations by carrying out reciprocal crosses: For example, he first crossed a female plant homozygous for yellow seeds with a male plant homozygous for green seeds and then crossed a female plant homozygous for green seeds with a male plant homozygous for yellow seeds.Unlike...
