tm ( melting temperature)of a double-stranded DNA is the temperature at which the double-stranded DNA is separated to 2 single-stranded DNAs.

in the DNA A and T forms 2 hydrogen bonds and C and G are linked to each other via 3 hydrogen bonds. so it is difficult to separate the GC basepair than AT basepair. so the DNA with more GC basepair is very difficult to separate compared to double-stranded DNA with more AT base pairs.

that is the melting temperature of double-stranded DNA depends on the nucleotide composition of the double-stranded DNA.
