16. b) polymerase - During the elongation phase, DNA polymerase adds DNA nucleotides to 3' end of a newly synthesized polymerase strand.

17. d) origin of replication- DNA replication begins at specific locations called origin of replication in the genome.

18. d) singe stranded binding proteins- dna replication mode, ssb proteins binds to newly separated strand which are individual strands and keeps the strand separated by holding them in place and so each strand can serve as template for new dna synthesis. The ssb proteins are mutated that is the reason because the template strands keeps coming back together before new strands are synthesized.

19. a) DNA ligase- they seals the sugar phosphate pieces and catalyzes the formation of phosphodiester bonds to repair broken strands of DNA.

20. d) they are complimentary to each other- The 2 strands of dna are anti-parallel and have complementary base pairs. The non template strand of dna double helix has complementary base pair from template strand.
