Describe, in detail, the processes involved in the synthesis and import of secretory proteins in the rough ER.
The synthesis of proteins begins in the cytosol through a process called translation in which protein is assembled from an RNA sequence. As the protein gradually grows ,it contains a signal sequence at its amino terminal end and it will become bound to a signal recognition particle. This particle carries the ribosome to the RER membrane. The signal recognition particle breaks and protein translation continues; once the RER bounded.
Secretory proteins that are released by cells, are packaged in vesicles and move to the golgi apparatus.

Proteins that are produced in rough ER to be secreted to the outside must first enter into tehlumen of rough ER, and then travel through ER and Golgi apparatus. Evely, those proteins are enclosed inside transport vosicles originate from Golgi Drag and drop the steps of the path taken by secretory proteins from their sites of synthesis to their destination.
