A freshly cooked potato is cooling on a plate. The temperature of the potato is observed to drop by 5 oC in the first minute of cooling. Will it cool by more or less than 5 oC in the second minute?

The heat lost by the potato = mass x specific heat x change in temperature

Since the change in temperature with respect to room temperature decreases everytime with passing minutes , the amount of energy released will also be less. In such a case if the temperature dropperd by 5oC in the first minute of cooling , so the potato will cool less than 5oC in the second minute.
