Answer-

I will take two big giant Google and Amazon to understand the diversity in workplace

Google- Google diversity policy states that the workplace is quite inclusive in terms of gender, ethnicity, race etc. Company believes to give equal opportunity irrespective of there gender, race etc. They commit to diverse and inclusive workforce. In 2019, data represent the employee who have chosen LGBTQ+ as their gender identity. They are also pitching for different background people like military person to utilise the skill by making it more inclusive work culture.

Amazon- Amazon vision and mission states their strive to be a customer centric organisation. Company commit to be inclusive to enhance the work culture and become more productive. There are 10 diverse groups ( e.g.Black employee network, Amazon women in engineering) are on board with the organisation which are also called employee resource group. All that is helping Amazon to build better product for their customer.

Common

Both companies has great vision towards inclusion and gender mix. The racial/ethnic inclusion is kept as priority which is reflecting in diversity report. The increase in female hire from the last year reflects the gender equality orientation by giving equal opportunity irrespective of gender. Both the companies follow equal position equal pay to almost 99% cases. Since both are giant organisation, they have set the bench mark for others to follow them.

Differences

Google diversity report (2018) reveals that female hire increases 33% from 31% in 2017. Report shows decline in the diversity in leadership position. Almost 4% decline in female hire from the year of 2017 in leadership position. Whereas the overall percentage for female in Amazon is 42% including all the level of hirarchy.

Google doesn't have any employee resource group whereas Amazon has 9 to 10. e.g. BEN and AWE

Google has its own vision to include the customer to develop product and help mankind to solve the problem which is highest degree of inclusion whereas Amazon has limited scope to include customer to build a better product

What do you think about the following paragraphs? I really enjoyed watching the video about the ethical impacts that a code can make in real world. Clarissa explained many points with proper reasoning and examples that really persuaded me. The first point she made that I found appealing was that the programmers should think about the worst case scenario that their program can create and write the code according to it. She provided the example of the "Volkswagen Scandal" in...
