During the exponential phase of growth, cells are most susceptible to antimicrobials.

During stationary phase, cells are most resistant to antimicrobials.

Endospore formation happens in the stationary phase. Because there is a lack of nutrients in the stationary phase and endospores make bacteria to live dormant for an extended period.
