Aside from amniocentesis, what is another way to perfrom prenatal testing and why is this method safer and better overall?
And:- aminocentesis is a vital process of prenatal pregnancy to determine different defect in child like genetic disorder, neural tube defect and inheritable disease also..
Aside from aminocentesis other prenatal testing are :-
1. First trimester prenatal screening test :- I . Fetal ultrasound and maternal blood testing happen in first trimester.
i. Ultrasound test for fetal nuchal translucency (NT) : to know about condition of growing foetus and to determine certain birth defect.
II . Maternal serum blood testing :- it contain two type of testing 1. Pregnancy associate plasma protein screening PAPP-A . Plasma protein secreted by placenta are tested to determine abnormality in child. 2. Human chorionic gonadotrophic hormone test :- this test done to determine pregnancy and risk of chromosomal abnormality. ( The level of this hormone increases blood circulation so it is found in female urine )
Testing in second trimester :- different blood testing and certain multiple marker test done in the second trimester.
i. Alpha - feto protein screening :- foetal liver secrete (Afp) this testing determine different defect in foetus. ( Open neural tube defect , downs syndrome , other chromosomal abnormality ) if twin present in woman womb the level of ( Afp) increases. If twin present so you have to test twins separately.
Other testing are chorionic vili sampling :- chorionic vili intact with placenta , the tissue contain the same genetic material as the foetus. This test happen 16-18 week of their pregnancy. By this testing we can determine defect of Gene, inheritable disease can be determine present in family history.
For more accurate result we can do multiple test also with the help of ultrasound also. In ultrasound we can use 2D and 3D imagining technology can be use. Aminocentesis :- in this method we take amniotic fluid from mother womb, amniotic fluid support and protect child various way. Amniotic fluid taken from mother womb by a syringe, for accuracy of needle movement we can use ultrasound also. This test happen (16 - 20 week) it help to determine different abnormality like :- cystic fibrosis , sickle cell , downs syndrome , heart defect etc.
By Aminocentesis we can determine down's syndrome (99%) accuracy, neural tube defect ( 98% ) accuracy.
Why this method safer :- mild discomfort to mother, slight burising at the injection side, in not take so much time for this method, no mutation and genetic alteration probability ( this probability present in other method like ultrasound and dye use method )
Some risk may arises Aminocentesis :- infection ( probability 1 %) , vaginal likage , spontaneous Absorption , Rh sensitation , injury to baby ... But this probability very less.

explain, in your own words, the difference between the following types of analysis: karyotype, amniocentesis, Chorionic villus sampling and non-invasive prenatal diagnosis. Give advantages and disadvantages to each testing type. Why are these tests used and under which circumstances might one test be used over another?
- why do you feel the way you do about prenatal testing? - choose one of the two answers and explain which one do you feel is the most ethical and why? A. Dr. Williams is correct. A mandate to either keep a child or to abort it after a diagnosis would be an entirely different discussion, but this is merely a blood test, and it is optional. We are simply providing the expecting parents with more information about their...

Prenatal Screening test Prenatal screening is a non-invasive type of testing that is available to all pregnant individuals in Ontario. Non-invasive means that there is no risk to the pregnant person or the baby. Screening uses ultrasound, blood work or some combination of both to get information about the likelihood of a baby having a specific health condition. Screening tests do not tell you for sure if the baby has the condition, only what the chance is. A physician will...
