Answer a: station 1 capacity is 60 units per hour (2 parallel machines), therefore station 3 is a bottleneck station with 4 units per hour capacity

Bottleneck time is cycle time if station 3= 60/4= 15 mins per unit

Answer b: station 3 is the bottleneck station

Answer c: Throughput time is the sum of the processing time that a product has to pass through. Time taken (station 1+station 2+ station 3) = 60/30 +60/12 +60/4= 2 + 5 + 15 = 22 mins

Answer d: Working hours= 11 hours for 5 days= 55 hours

The capacity of bottleneck= 4 units per hour

Total product per week= 55*4= 220 units
