let consider stage1 is sawing therefore process rate = 2.5 units/hr therefore throughput time = 60/2.5 = 24 minutes

let consider stage2 is sanding and drilling therefore process rate = 5 units/hr + 2.1 units/hr = 7.1 units/hr therefore throughput time = 60/7.1 = 8.45 minutes

let consider stage3 is welding therefore process rate = 6 units/hr therefore throughput time = 60/6 = 10 minutes

let consider stage4 is assembly therefore process rate = (3 * 0.8 = 2.4) units/hr therefore throughput time = 60/2.4 = 25 minutes

since assembly consumes the highest time therefore it is bottleneck stage.

c) throughput time = time of bottleneck step = 25 minutes

d) if the firm operates 8 hours per day , 20 days per month then monthly capacity
