1. Maximum output of stage 1 =2 x 30 units = 60 units per hour

Maximum output of stage 2 = 1 x 2 units = 2 per hour

Maximum output of stage 3 = 1 x4 = 4 per hour

(a) Bottleneck resource is station 2 which has output of 2 per hour

Bottleneck cycle time = 60/2 =30 minutes

(b) Station 2 is bottleneck station

(c) Throughput time = sum of time taken by all processes = 60/30+60/2+60/4 = 2 +30+15 = 47 minutes

(d) Weekly output = 40x2 = 80 per week.
