Answer #1

A. In both mitosis and meiosis replication occurs in s - phase of interphase.

B. in mitosis only one time cell division occurs while in meiosis 2 successive divisions occur.

C. Synapsis is the pairing of 2 homologous chromosomes occurs during meiosis (prophase I) while homologous ch. present during mitosis.

D. Two identical daughter cells with same number of chromosomes(diploid) form by mitosis while 4 daughter cells with half of their parents chromosomes(n).

E. mitosis produces number of cells for growth and repair while meiosis forms germ cells or sex cells like ovum and sperm.
