The organisation where I work, has a comprehensive training and development program for every individual. There is a training calendar prepared at the start of every year.Before this, a training need analysis is done and schedule of routine training for every position is rolled out. Besides training, the employees are expected to go to the company headquarter for a compulsory training of 15 days every year to upgrade their skills and learning. Need based training are conducted for teams when a new task is to be started.
The learning experiences include in house training as well as programs customised to the employees by external subject matter experts. Other leaning is obtained through a mentoring program which runs parallel to the annual training at the headquarter, in which the senior members of the company share their experiences and guide the new ones in their work.
The training are compulsory for everyone. They are also subject to continuous evaluation after each session and the outcome is measured in terms of the enhanced performance of the employee over the time and forms part of the annual appraisal process.
