Introduction - Queuing theory is considered to be a field of mathematics that specially deals in the cases of waiting of lines. Queuing theory is used to design queuing models or the waiting models such that one can identify and understand the lengths of the queues and the waiting time of such queue. Thus a manager can reduce the waiting time. Queuing theory is also used for making managerial decisions apart from finding out the queue lengths and waiting time. These type of managerial decisions are used for deciding the allocation of the resources that are required for rendering a service at most of the times.Queuing theory was first coined by Agner Krarup Erlang in the year 1909. This theory was made popular widely when he first published this theory while working for a Danish Telephone Exchange Company. This was later developed and expanded by many researches into many other queuing techniques for finding out the queuing lengths relating to different services and the waiting time at the queues.
