I NEED A RESPONSE TO THE DISCUSSION BELOW.

Since I am an Operations Management major, this class was one of my electives. I initially was not going to take it because it had nothing to do with my major but the fact that I felt I could learn more about my health drove me to choose it. I am very happy with my choice as I found this class to be an excellent guide for women of all ages. I have learned so much. A woman in her late 40's may think she has all of the answers but I am here to tell you that is not the case.

Modules 9 and 10 struck me the most. Here I thought I knew so much about menopause but it was in fact the other way around and it has caused me to try to learn more as I am sure I will be entering that phase of my life soon. By the time we had reached module 10 and the topic of breast cancer, I was going in for my second breast ultra sound in 6 months. They are watching some complex cysts so while it was a little nerve racking, I actually am now glad I am going through so much testing and to have learned what I have through this class. I do not carry the genes, but my mother has breast cancer 2 years ago. It is important to stay vigilant and continue to learn about your body.

This class has pushed me to change a lot in my life. I have since joined a gym and I have changed my eating habits drastically as these are important factors in almost everything. I try to limit my stress though it is hard while working two jobs, roughly about 80 hours a week, but I am learning to take me time at some points during the day. I go to routine doctor appointments but sometimes slack on mammograms, which I will never do again. I have already scheduled my mammo and ultrasound six months from now to ensure I remain consistent.

This class has been a tremendous eye opener for me and I am so glad I chose it.

(PLEASE TYPE YOUR RESPONSE) THANK YOU!!!

Answer #1

The above discussion has created a good awareness on to follow the most common phrase in medicine ie.,"Prevention is better than cure".

This stresses the importance of early screening and identification of any illness especially the breast cancer if it runs in the family. All womens who are in their 40's should screen for this and have a consistency in maintaining their health checkup periodically atleast once in six months if there is any abnormal funding in order to take appropriate preventive measures by simple lifestyle modifications.
