Answer #1

Answer is A

There are four phases in menstrual cycle in the following sequence - Menstrual phase, follicular phase,

Ovulatory phase and luteal phase. Ovulation that occurs on 14th day is due to LH surge. This sudden

increase in LH secretion is secondary to rise in oestrogen concentration. Oestrogen surge occurs at

12-13 days and LH surge within 24 hours of oestrogen surge. So their levels are highest just before

ovulation that is end of follicular phase. We also see another peak in oestrogen level in luteal phase.
