Answer #1

Glycolysis is sequential breakdown of a glucose molecule into 2 molecules of pyruvate. The process involves 10 steps. The final steps of glycolysis involves substrate level phosphorylation in which ATP(adenosine triphosphate) is generated.

ATP is the cellular energy currency of the cell. during the conversion of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate, ATP is generated this process is catalyzed by phosphoglycerate kinase.

At the expense of carbon oxidation, ATP is generated from inorganic phosphate and ADP.. In total two molecules of ATP and two NADH generated during conversion of 1 molecule of glucose into two molecules of pyruvate. cell utilise the ATP produced during the last steps of glycolytic pathway in many energy requiring cellular processes.
