Shine-Dalgarno (SD) has a role in translation by binding to the 16S ribosomal RNA. What would happen if half of the SD was removed?

Shine Dalgarno sequence is located 10bp upstream from the translation initiation codon in the bacterial mRNA. It is the sequence where the 3' end of the ribosome subunit -30S basepairs with mRNA inorder to initiate the translation and position the AUG codon to the P site of the ribosome.

So if the Shine Dalgarno sequence is removed partially, translation - gene expression of proteins will reduce or completely halt. Translation will not take place.
