3. a) this unicellular supergroup belongs to the domain Eukaryota, having a variety of free-living and symbiotic forms, and some of them are important parasites of humans.

some of this group are "amitochondriate" because they lack in mitochondria and in some members the mitochondrial material modified into mitosome and some have mitochondria with tubular cristae. usually, excavates have unique and multi flagella.

b) Parabasalids have diminished mitochondria called hydrogenosomes and deliver some ATP anaerobically and produce hydrogen. Trichomonas vaginalis causes explicitly transmitted contaminations of vulva and urethra in males.

Diplomonads: diminished mitochondria, called mitosomes which can't utilize oxygen, consequently, diplomonads are anaerobic. Giardia intestinalis lives in digestion tracts of warm-blooded creatures(mammals). It has 2 comparable nuclei and a few flagella. It causes stomach issues and diarrhea in people.

Euglenoids has a pocket toward one side and 1or 2 flagella rise up out of it. Flagella have a crystalline bar other than 9+2 microtubules found in every single eukaryotic flagellum. Euglena has eyespot to shield photodetector present on long flagellum. It empowers Euglena to swim towards wellspring of light. Pellicle covers the body. It has proteins strips beneath cell film. Other than swimming, Euglena can float by changing its shape. Mixotrophic Nutrition: Euglena has a few plastids secured with 3membranes, however, can be heterotrophic and assimilate natural supplements from the environment. Euglena isolates by longitudinal fission and does not have the ability of sexual reproduction.

Kinetoplastids have a solitary mitochondrion with sorted out DNA mass called kinetoplast. Trypanosoma species cause sleeping sickness, deadly if untreated. Tsetse fly chomps and spreads the sleeping sickness in Africa. Trypanosoma has an undulating layer to locomote in thicker plasma.
