Cultural exchange is respect to that particular culture when it is appreciated in better and proper manner. in culture exchange the different culture learn something from each other in manner that both culture accept something good from another culture people and respect them when they bring that thing to another culture. It is one thing to show respect towards other culture. culture exchange is one type of appreciation for a culture if we see this as compliment its about consent of another person to get into their culture and you both gain some mutual benefit from that exchange. Appropriation on other hand if taken as complement it shows that one is attracted and influenced from that culture and very eager to get into that tradition but culture appropriation is not consent like the cultural exchange. Some people who have adapted culture appropriation are very excited to do that thing from another culture and very much impressed with it that it why they have done it.

In reality if we see in reality culture appropriation is purely theft as you don't know anything from that culture and their belief and above that you disrespect to that culture. Culture appropriation is clearly insult to people of that culture because at first hand you don't know the importance of the things that you have done or accepted from that culture nor do you know what is history behind of thing or style. You follow certain thing from that culture because you liked it and you want to wear that fashion without proper background it is purely insult to that culture and theft for people of that culture because you did not asked for permission of them and simply adopted it regardless of feeling of people from that culture. You have to respect those people and their feelings for their culture.
