1. Declan has just started his new job and needs to be a very effective communicator as he is in community service segment. The first and foremost goal is to achieve an even ground - by communicating in the official language (i.e) English. It is also important to identify the needs of his organisation first and the needs of the external community or stakeholders which benefits from said activities. There are 2 types of information that need to be shared at relevant forums:

a. Internal information - information produced and generated within the organisation Declan works for. This information is easily available to all employees and is used to improve the services of the organisation.

b. External information - The information that is shared to concerned external stakeholders in the form of services, impact etc.

The format of sharing information or communicating with stakeholders should be as prescribed by the standard operating procedure of the organization (i.e) by official emails, telephone calls or fax reports under supervision of his superior.

2. Typically most community NGOs/ service centers follow the pyramid structure of having a single top authority as final decision maker. Under this single authority 2 operational heads follow - admin and social heads. Under these heads various managers and asst managers works.

3. Declan needs to understand for who / beneficiaries the community center works for. If the community center works for aged people or children or any other cause, then the needs of them will vary. Normally community centers help in the social and personal development of its beneficiaries by offering a plethora of services that helps the individual and community maintain healthy social outcomes.

4. Maintaining good inter - relationships with external stakeholders is key to improving service levels of Declans organization. Only by interacting with external stakeholders can Declan make a difference in the community he serves. By sharing vital information between community services, a more profound care can be given to the benficiaries. The lines of communication however should be confidential and in keeping with the policy of his organisation.

5/ 6. Protocols and rules are in place to be followed. When protocols especially in communication are followed, then all information can be tracked and effective impact in service levels can be seen. All information should be in the format prescribed by organisations. All information is confidential and should be shared with only those stakeholders that can benefit from these activities.
