People have an affinity to recollect the unfinished duty that he or she did not attained than the finished ones. This affinity to recall unfinished tasks better than the finished tasks is known as Zeigarnik’s effect.

Zeigarnik check the Lewin theory which is based on clarification of learning. She expected that giving the subject an assignment to accomplish would make a tension system and that collecting of the assignment would dismiss the tension. For this she did a research work which is mentioned below:

Zeigarnik provided 22 tasks to 138 subjects. The subjects were permissible to finish certain tasks but not others. She later verified the subjects on their remembrance of the tasks and establishes that the subjects recalled many more of the unfinished tasks than the completed ones. Her clarification was that for the unfinished tasks the related tension was never reduced and so rests as intents and as such they remain slice of person’s life space.
