Brain is the main part of human body which reacts on the sensual information and organizes them into well understandable configurations or forms that the individual have knowledge about it. So, individuals act or function according to the brain and not from the physical world. This difference is used by the Koffka to distinguish between behavioral and geographical environment.

The geographical environment is the objective reality which is also the physical environment. When humans interpret the geographical environment by their consciousness and behavior then it is known as subjective reality. Gestaltists interpreted that behavior is determined by the subjective reality. To describe these two realities an example is described below:

Many people looking at a tree. A boy sees the tree and finds a chance to play, climb, and discover it. By looking at the same tree, the father concerned about the fall of his son, branches to be broken and unripe fruits in the trees to be fallen. Whereas, a biologist wants to know the species of the tree and the habitat that it provides to different animals. So one object that is tree and many subjective interpretations.
