Topoisomerases:
A DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) topoisomerase is a nuclease that breaks a phosphodiester bond in a DNA strand. This mainly involves in the unwinding of the supercoils formed during replication.
In addition, these enzymes regulate unwinding or over winding. They are classified into two types:
• Type 1 topoisomerase.
• Type 2 topoisomerase.
