Compare Aristotle’s attitude toward sensory experience with that of Plato.
Both Plato and Aristotle were specifically interested in essences of truths that ultimately go beyond the appearance of things but their methods for discovering those essences were distinctly different. Both believed that if enough individual manifestations or phenomenon were investigated, one could exemplify the truth of essence in a better manner of way.
In the book Metaphysics, Aristotle exemplified his attitude towards sensory information is much common than the Plato’s. Aristotle described as the forerunner of empiricism whereas Plato is considered as the patriarch of rationalism. The principles behind the Aristotle and Plato were real and knowable have been characterized through the universal’s essences.
There is a big basic difference behind the Aristotle’s attitude towards sensory experience as compared to that of the Plato. According to Aristotle, they attained principles by nurturing nature directly and imposes that knowledge and nature are inseparable. According to Plato, all knowledge exists independently of nature and knowledge search against the hindrance towards the body.
Aristotle also disagreed with the concept of Plato in the terms of mathematics. Aristotle described the logical analysis as a powerful tool that emphasize on the cognitive behavior by imposing on the terms of classification and observation. In other way, Aristotle’s philosophy follows the Hippocratic as a biological tradition whereas Plato’s philosophy follows the Pythagorean as a mathematical tradition.
