Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

Humanistic psychology is an approach towards psychological treatment, which emphasizes on the study of the whole personality of the person. Humanistic psychologists study the human behavior based on the patient’s behavior. A holistic approach helps the patient realize that all humans are inherently nice and good people.

There are several factors to human psychology. The basic tenets of humanistic psychology include avoidance of studies on animal behavior for analyzing human behavior. According to them, no animal model can mimic the brain activities of human. Hence, it is worthless to spend time on studying animal models. Human mental health can be improved by studying human mind only.

They follow subjective reality and not only mere observation. Psychologists not only blindly follow what they see, but try to analyze the reason behind that kind of behavior. They go for deeper meanings for a person’s actions.

Though it is useful to study a group of individuals for broader spectra, but humanistic psychology believes that studying individuals is more informative and effective. A group of individuals having common factors will, for sure, have some dissimilarity in them. Hence, studying a group may not solve every individual’s problem.
