Generally the histone proteins would be found in areas where the chromosome undergoes maximum condensation. Thus, it could be ascertained that the concentration of H1 histone proteins would be lower in the uncondensed part of the chromatin fiber. Thus, in the figure maximum histone protein would be found in the heterochromatin part of the chromosome (red area in the figure).
