It is highly essential that exposing a specific part of the DNA aids in exposing the coding sequences of a gene thus producing the requisite gene product.
On the other hand, figure 12-19 illustrates the way in which the DNA coding of β-globulin gene is exposed through chromosome remodeling. Remodeling of the β-globulin gene is done with the participation of SWI-SNF proteins that would expose the TATA box of the gene. The TATA box is the area where TATA binding proteins binds to the DNA, which would enable the initiation of transcription of the globulin gene. While the former illustrates a basic remodel procedure and the latter shows finer details about the specific gene.
