Read the article, "Use of Prunes as a Control of Hypertension." What issues did you identify with the collection of data in this study?
Prune is the dried version of a cultivar fruit i.e the plums.
They contain dietary fiber which can't be completely broken down by the digestive enzymes, thus, providing a laxative effect.
Prunes have all the way shown positive results in treating the blood pressure or the hypertension problems. They also lowered the serum cholesterol and LDL levels.
To obtain this study data, many patients were taken into consideration. These patients were all pre hypertensive adults. They were supposed to be kept under keen observation as their BP was being monitored. Such patients had to be given prunes in controlled manner and in proper times. They were observed daily and fortnightly, that too for a long duration of almost 8 weeks.
Such issues were observed while studying the effects of prunes in hypertension cases.
