When we discuss about slackerism, there are two types of slackers like Personal slackers who avoid work or do little work due to their own private reasons and Context slacker who avoids doing work because of the incentive system or some other external factors which encourages slackerim.

The major cause here is incentives. The workers believe in the concept that working hard do not benefit them as they have entered into the work with agreements which are so protective. In this concept the workers are well aware that its impossible to fire a worker and nearly impossible to reward superior performance.. So the workers know that they would be employed until the agreement is valid. When the agreement is made and wages are fixed. Since the wages are fixed, the competition is negative.It makes sense, if you are paid the same amount as everyone else despite of doing less work than others, you have found a way to win. This attitude of workers encourage slackerism.
