What strategies can you suggest for nurses to improve relationships with managers who are not self-aware?

A person whose job is to manage something, such as a buisiness, or a team or employees in an organisation. A nurse manager is responsible for supervising and managing nursing staffs in a healthcare setting.

Self awareness is a quality that an individual must possess so that he can identify his areas of strength and weaknesses there by he can improve and correct some areas of life or interaction or dealing with others.

Strategies to improve a nurse's relationship with managers who lack self awareness:

* With the due respect for the post for the manager or the leader,  a nurse can be a lense through which a nurse manager can have better understanding about the unit or ward. A nurse should not be overly critical or blunt , but she can help the nurse manager to understand the feelings of team.

* Use tact in conversation rather than bluntly telling the opinions: A nurse can offer observations such as what she felt about others or others feelings towards the manager. Example " Have you noticed that Ms. Anna is overworked"

* Be cope up with the limitations of the manager . Compensate for their character but be alert

* Adapt with the situations ( some time these leaders may overuse their strengths or get weakened) with the positive behaviours. So that a nurse can improve the relationship with the managers and it will benefit for the entire team also.

* Reinforce their self -views because they may often feel the in security and need for validation. Make use the opportunity.

* A nurse should have the better self understanding and self awareness to improve the her understanding about others and her relationship with the manager by dealing with them in an intelligent way.
