Discuss the three categories of Medicaid: categorically needy, medically needy, and special groups. Explain and provide an example of how there might be individuals that benefit from these programs while others that are in need might not qualify?

1. Mandatorily Categorically needy:

Low income families, Qualified pregnant women & children, poverty affected infants, pregnant women, children aged 1 to 18 years, Aged, blind other disabled indibiduals, Disabled widows , disabled widowers , qualified working individuals etc will be benefitted under this category.

2. Optional categorically needy:

Optional Targeted low income children, Children under 21 not receiving cash, presumptively eligible children & pregnant women, TB patients, Woment with breast & cervical cancer, pverty level aged, et will be benefited under this category.

3. Medically needy:

Medically needy pregnant women & needy children under 18, aged, blinf, disabled, etc will be benefitted under this category.

Others that are in need doesnot qualify:

Dental treatments

Missed appointments

Cosmetic surgery

OTC medications

Custodial care

Routine or Annual check ups

Medical services covered outside US.
