Bioterrorism is the kind of terrorism that is done knowingly or intentionally spread or the release of the biological agent such as harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and the other toxic biological agents, these agents are human-modified or the natural agents.

Definition

US centers for disease control and prevention stated that it is the deliberate release of the viruses, bacteria, toxins and other harmful biological in the environment to cause illness and that illness can lead to death in the human being and also in animals and plants. the naturally occurring bacteria and the biological agents are modified and mutated so that the treatment will be difficult and there is a need to spend a lot of money on the treatment, and also due to unavailability of the medicine of the new disease many people, plants and animals die, and also the symptoms related to these agents are seen after a long period of infection that makes it difficult to detect and the formation of medicine and research takes time. some infections such as smallpox can be spread from one individual to another but anthrax cannot.

with advancement in technology, it is considered as the inexpensive and the easy way to cause damage to a large population and also it brings panic into the geographical region, these methods cause large damage to the population and the economy.

Types of agents used in bioterrorism

It is easier to disseminate and have a low mortality rate.

2.foos borne disease such as salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus.

3 CATEGORY C

These are the biological agent that causes a mass threat and have a high mortality rate due to its availability and can be produced easily, and also it has a major impact on health.

Researchers are working on the various possible detection system of the agents such as

1. electronic chips that are very small in size and it contains living nerve cell that helps in detection of the organism.

2. fiber optic tubes are designed that contains antibiotics and the light that transmits from it helps in the identification of agents such as salmonella and anthrax.
