This is the network diagram showing all the activities with their predecessors. A matrix is shown which is used further to solve the problem. Here :

ES stands for early start, and it means earliest an activity can start given its predecessor finishes early.

EF stands for early finish.

LS stands for late start. This happens when predecessor activity finishes late.

LF is late finish.

Using the matrix defined in above sheet ES,EF,LS,LF timings are obtained using forward pass and backward pass method.

Forward pass gives us ES and EF timings and backward gives us LS and LF timings.

Slack as defined in image is EF-ES or LF-LS. Value of each activity slack is calculated and shown above each matrix.

Critical path is the one in which all the activities have zero slack. Hence here critical path is A<C<F<I<K<L.

As activity L is the last activity of critical path it's finish time is the duration of project. Hence project duration is 19 days
