If 1X is 50 µg /ml, this means that 1000X will be one thousand times of this i.e. (1000 * 50) = 50000 µg/ml.

Now, 1ml stock solution is having 50,000 µg; so, 5ml will possess (5 * 50000) = 250, 000µg.

So, you need 250 mg or 0.25g of ampicillin to make this 1000X stock solution.
