1.SOUTHERN BLOTTING.

it is a technique which is use to either identify the DNA of interest from a mixture of DNA samples or to identify a specific base sequence from a particular strand of DNA. hence, we run DNA fragments in the gel and use labeled single DNA fragment as probe having sequence complementary to the target DNA.

2. WESTERN BLOTTING.

it is a technique use to detect or identify a specific protein in the given sample. hence, we run protein in the gel and use labeled antibody as probe which is specific to theprotein of interest.

3. NORTHERN BLOTTING.

it is a technique use to detect a particular RNA from the given sample. hence, we run RNA in the gel and use labeled RNA or ssDNA fragments as probe which have complimentary sequences to the target RNA.
