Project management has five phases which have its own agenda of tasks and issues which are discussed below:

  1. Project initiation: This is the first phase of the project management. In which the project value’s and feasibility are measured. This phase is mainly focused on project startup so there are some tasks which are being completed in this phase.
    1. Define project scope.
    2. Define the project objective.
    3. Project requirements.
    4. Check the availability of the resources.
  2. Project planning: Once the project is approved by the higher authority than it needs a solid plan to execute the project. This phase is also including detailed role and responsibilities of each team members. A well-written plan gives a correct guidance for completing the project before its deadlines. In this phase all the details are mentioned as contact details of each team members, deadlines of the project, project start, and end date, project goals and project budget.
  3. Project execution: In this phase, the execution of the project is started and delivers the project that satisfies the customer. There is the main role of team leader in this phase because the team leader allocating resources and keeping team members focused on their tasks.
  4. Project monitoring and control: This phase is sometimes combined with project execution because they occur at the same time in project management. The team members execute the project as well as monitor their own progress. If we promise to deliver the project on a specific date than we have to monitor the project task periodically.
  5. Project closure: This is the last phase of the project management in which the team closes a project when they deliver the finished project to the customer. This step involves the evaluation of the project which may help to team for his future to become more stronger and successful teams.
