Answer 3- The Narrow-spectrum antibiotics target only a few types of bacteria where as the Broad-spectrum antibiotics target many types of bacteria.

Examples of Narrow spectrum antibiotics are:- penG, macrolides and vancomycin.

Examples of broad spectrum antibiotics are:- Aminoglycosides, Amoxicillin, Quinolones, Tetracyclines, Chloramphenicol.

Answer 4- The Zone of inhibition is an area around the spot of the antibiotic in which the bacteria colonies do not grow. It is used to measure the susceptibility of the bacteria towards the particular antibiotic.

Answer 5- Kirby-Bauer test is antibiotic susceptibility test. In this, discs containing antibiotics are placed on agar plate where bacterias are grown. The antibiotics diffuses into the agar. If the antibiotic stops the bacterial growth , there will be circular clear areas around the antibiotics where bacteria doesn't grow, known as zone of inhibition.
