Elaborate more on your understanding of the various barriers to effective communication. How would you apply the tools learned in this course to improve your communication skills in a business environment? My communication barriers are Physical, Language Problems and Thought Speed.

The various barriers to effective communication in an organization might disrupt the smooth flow of information among the departments and might also result in delaying decisions. My communication skills such as the inability to express myself non verbally, lack of linguistic skills and slow responsiveness or lack of understanding to the thoughts shared results in inefficiency to accurately provide the response to what is expected of me. This creates confusion and chaos during communicating ideas or opinions to the other people and results in lack of confidence also.

The tools that I will use to improve my communication skills in a business environment will entail eliminating the linguistic differences by specifying a particular common or majority used language In the business environment and avoiding use of regional or cultural influences on language.

Active listening is the way to improve the intake of thoughts at a faster speed through increasing their attentiveness and critical thinking to sort the thoughts.

Discussion Boards are another way to improve understanding between the members of teams in the organization which will also encourage the positive feedback on the opinion of others. This will clear misunderstandings causes to the language barrier or misinterpretation of message or misconception while listening.
