Selective and Differential Media – What media you would use to identify your Bacteria klebsiella pneumoniae and what the outcome would be?
It is a gram-negative , facultative anaerobic bacteria and it release gas in reaction with lactose.
It will be isolated and identity in MacConkey agar
It is an indicator, a selective and differential culture medium for bacteria designed to selectively isolate Gram-negative and enteric bacilli and differentiate them based on lactose fermentation.

Please help me answer the following questions Lab 20. Selective and Differential Media culture, how would you determine which a mixed Gram negative rm anism was which? Be specific. how 4. If you were given Define selective vs. differential media. 5.
1. Define selective media. 2. Define differential media. 3. Name a media that is selective and differential and how you can interpret results as being such. 4. What makes MSA selective? EMB? MAC? 5. What does a yellow color on MSA indicate SPECIFICALLY!!?? (not name of bacteria) 6. What characteristic is detected by EMB/MAC? 7. What is a positive result on EMB? 8. What is a positive result on MAC?
differential, selective, hemolysis, primary media - 12. For each media, identify the following: a. Name of media b. Type of media: general, enriched, selective, differential. Describe what makes it that way. c. Explain how the results are interpreted. d. Interpret the results of each microorganism. Explain how you made each interpretation
answer all please 21) Indicate whether nutrient broth is a selective or differential media by marking the appropriate box(es). If the medium is both selective and differential, mark both. If the medium is neither selective nor differential, check the "neither" box selective O differential O neither 22) Indicate whether phenol red dextrose agar is a selective or differential media by marking the appropriate box(es). If the medium is both selective and differential, mark both. If the medium is neither selective...
Background Ques part 1) Selective and differential media; EMB and Tsl agar bacill inhabit a wide range of environments. Many are significant pathogens, such a coli, Salmonella, Shigella, but many compose our normal flora and inhabit soil and water. Many gra negative bacilli that inhabit our large intestine are called enterics. Enteric pathogens are the most frequent cause of diarrheal illnesses and have become significant contaminants spread through foo Some can also cause respiratory and urinary infections. Experiment 1: EMB...
Talk specifically about the differential and selective media( MSA and EMB) and also address TSA which would be used as a control. You should discuss how they work, what they assess for: both cellular characteristics and metabolic characteristics. Including figures of pathways.

I need help answering the questions Part 1: Terminology and table of media 1. Go over the information in your lab manual for selective media (pages 227-228). Also, use the information for exercise 4-1, 4-2,4-3,4-4, and 4-5 to complete the table on the last page (the videos will help you as well as you go through them). 1. Define selective media and differential media. 2. What is the purpose of each of these components in selective/differential media: a. nutritional components...
