  1. Measure your heart rate per minute while you are at rest. You will do this four times and calculate your average heart rate per minute.
  2. Measure your heart rate per minute after this activity: you will step quickly up and down a stair step or a street curb for 30 seconds. You will do this activity four times and calculate your average heart rate per minute after each round of the activity.
  3. Submit the following data by clicking the Next button below or follow the link to Survey - Class Heart Rate Data, by the end of the first week of Module 1. You can only access the survey once so please make sure to write down your data before you open the survey.

    Last Name________________
    Gender (M/F)_____________
Your average resting heart rate (beats per minute)_________________

Answer #1

heart rate is the number of contraction per minute ,known as heart beat per minute . it is the speed of heart . measured in bpm ( beats per minute ) . heart rate is often synchronized with pulse rate .

heart beat can vary according to situation (under pressure or relaxed ), state of body ( resting or working ) , need of the body ( level of oxygen ,carbon dioxide in blood ) etc .

in resting state average heart beat 60-80 bpm normally for an adult person . during sleep heart beat will be 50-60 bpm average.

in activity average heart beat will be 80-120 bpm

in resting state normal heart rate of a student would be - 66 , 70, 72 , 70 (approx) avg - 70 bpm

in activity( above said activity) ,heart beat of a student will be - 102 ,96 , 104, 104 (approx) avg - 102 bpm

You want to measure your resting pulse rate. You might count the number of beats in five seconds and multiply by 12 to get beats per minute. Consider counting the number of beats in 15 seconds and multiplying by 4 to get beats per minute. In what way will this improve the reliability of your measurement? a. This measurement will likely have a smaller variance, since you're multiplying by 4 instead of 12. b. You are less likely to make...
