The human resource strategies followed in an organization can depend on a number of factors such as the number of employees, the organizational structure and the work culture of the organization.

The structure of the organization defines the levels of authority and control followed there. The organization with a hierarchical structure will have strict guidelines and rigidly defined strategies which need to be followed by all in the organization whereas an organization with a flat structure can have strategies where the employees can be more involved in decision making and more participative in achieving the goal. A hierarchical structure will have more structured HR policies and strategies than a matrix structure.

The culture and climate of an organization is the internal environment and the relationship and level of interaction of employees with each other. The motivation, their honesty, their integrity and appreciation for their talents are considered in an organization with the good work culture. The HR strategies will be flexible and employee-oriented in such organizations. The employees will be considered before profits and this will bring enthusiasm and motivation in employees to work better. Whereas in organizations with strict and formal work culture have defined and structured work policies and strategies are based on the goals to be achieved and employees work accordingly.
