Catharsis, also known as Cathartic method, refers to the alleviation of hysterical symptoms that are to be expressed consciously by allowing pathogenic ideas in the mindset of human body. In this, the pathogenic ideas shows the sign of conscious expression and the symptoms were initially abolished by releasing tremendous amount of energy.

Transference refers to the process by which a patient fully and greatly responds to the action of the therapist’s processes. In this, the therapist was considered as an important and a relevant person in the scenario of the life-history of the patient.

Countertransference refers to the process by which a therapist becomes personally and emotionally attached with a patient. It develops by the action of stronger bonding between therapist and patient that requires excessive amount of time and emotional attachment between them.
