On 21 April, 1896, Freud presented a paper in Vienna to the Psychiatric and Neurological Society that titled as “The Aetiology of Hysteria”. This paper explains about the conditions of hysteric patients that had been sexually molested in their early childhood. By this paper, Freud concluded that such event causes the situations of hysteria.

In the year 1984, Masson identified that the hostile reception mediated by the medical community of Freud’s paper was solely responsible for the subsequent abandonment of the new kind of theory that was collectively known as the seduction theory. It was considered that the seduction theory does not exist between most of the places that gives rise to the encountership of the patient’s imagination sills.

The Freud abandoned their seduction theory in September, 1987. He decided that imagined incidents were considered as realistic to their patients that undergone traumatic conditions.
