What did Freud learn from Liebeault and Bernheim at the Nancy school of hypnosis that influenced the development of psychoanalysis?
In the year 1889, Freud visited the noble physicians Auguste Ambroise Liebeault and Hippolyte Bernheim at the Nancy school of hypnosis for learning and improving the skills of hypnotic awareness.
From the study taught by Liebeault and Bernheim, Freud learned the skills of posthypnotic suggestion confirming that an idea was developed during the conditions of hypnosis that could majorly influence the behavior of a person even when the person was unaware about this condition.
Freud also learned from Liebeault and Bernheim studies that patients undergo the phase of hypnosis conditions that refers to the phenomenon known as posthypnotic amnesia in which the memories lost forever and thus, the memories could return to its existing state by strongly encouraged to remember by the patients. Such observational studies are also very important for the development of psychoanalysis behavior in a more learning way.
The hypothesis about the unawareness of intact ideas of a person plays a pivotal role in the behavior of a person which postulated about the Freud’s learning from Charcot that become a crucial part of the development of psychoanalysis in a more personified manner.
