In this project, you view from where to start a full system backup in Windows 7. If you performed Hands-On Project 7-4 and stopped at Step 7, skip this project. Also, in order to perform this project, the backup process must already have been configured (check with your instructor for any questions). You need Administrator privileges to perform this activity.

To view from where to perform a full backup in Windows 7:

1. Click Start and click Control Panel.

2. Ensure that View by is set for Large icons or Small icons and click Backup and Restore.

3. In the Backup and Restore window notice that you can start a full backup by clicking the Back up now button.

4. Close the Backup and Restore window. (Alternatively, if you have a removable hard drive connected and you instructor’s go ahead, you can click the Back up now button and proceed with a backup. Close the Backup and Restore window when the backup is completed. Depending on the size of the hard drive a backup may take several hours.)
