Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard offer a standard UNIX mount command that you can use. In this project, you view the documentation for the mount command.

To view the documentation for the mount command:

1. Ensure that Finder is open.

2. Click Go in the menu bar and click Utilities.

3. Double-click Terminal.

4. Type mount and press Enter to view the mounted volumes (including removable media).

5. Type man mount and press Enter. Use the spacebar to read a page of information at a time or use the up and down arrow keys to navigate through the documentation. If you were to enter the command mount -r plus a file system name what would this do?

6. Type q to exit the manual information.

7. Click Terminal in the menu bar and click Quit Terminal.

8. Close the Utilities window.
